Avehre
Born Brandon Avery Smith in Germany and raised in Chicago, IL, Avehre (ah-veer) is a rising star making a significant mark on the evolving music industry. His musical journey began in the church, and he later drew inspiration from legends like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and his mentor, Gladys Knight, to craft his own soulful R&B style.
Avehre has built a stellar reputation by opening for renowned Gospel artists such as Fred Hammond, Vickie Winans, Tina Campbell (of Mary Mary), and Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child). In 2012, he captivated Grammy Award-winning "Empress of Soul" Gladys Knight with his vocal talent, leading to a role as her background vocalist on tour. This collaboration significantly boosted his exposure and artistic growth.
In 2014, Avehre released his debut holiday EP, *Star Filled Sky*, and co-wrote and vocally produced Knight’s 2015 track "Just A Little," the lead single from her twelfth studio album. This milestone solidified his status as Knight’s protégé and a promising new voice in R&B. Avehre's innovation and determination promise a lasting impact across musical genres.
